Baby

A long time ago, in a land where Olives grow on a
cold winter's night a child was born.
Born to very poor folks. He was born in a stable among horses and cattle.
His parents
laid him in the feeding trough and called this his bed. They
had no money and had
traveled a great distance to escape their Ruler since he had ordered them
to be found
and possibly executed. They called him "Jesus". As
this child grew he had nowhere to
go. He had to flee the country for his life. A child of peasants,
he would never be
considered "upper class". He was ordinary and meager. There
were no clothes to
cover his little body. His parents wrapped him in what they could find.
They also had
no money or a job. They only had a tired Donkey and each other. And now
their baby,
Jesus. But on the night of the birth of this child a great miracle occured.
You see in the
green grassy hilltops there were men watching their Sheep and resting.
In the sandy
desert Great Kings were traveling. On this dark night as they went on with
their lives as
usual, they both saw in the heavens a great and awesome star. One they
had never
seen before. It was brighter and bigger then all the rest. It's radiance
had shown to all
the world everywhere. An Angel appeared and said to them "The Messiah
is born.
God's promise has been fullfilled. He is born. The star will light the
way. Follow the
star" and then the Angel was gone. These men, bewildered and now,
greatly confused
didn't know what to do. They had never seen an Angel before or had ever
heard
one speak. So they all decided they should go and see.
They started their long journey on the their Camels, Donkeys, and
by walking across the
desert towards a quiet little town called Bethleham. As they got closer
to the star and it's
light which lit up the hills and the town, there appeared another Angel
who seemed to be
hovering, staying in one spot. This Angel was staring at something.
The face of the
Angel was peaceful and happy, smiling at the new arrival. The closer they
came, the
brighter light. They felt a warmth and a sense of peace. One said
to the other "We are
approaching a barn! There is nothing here." The other said
"We need to go and see.
Something is in there. I know it. Let's go and see before we turn
back." They were in
sight of the stable now. Their eyes fell on the feeding trough and
they got off their
camels and bowed down on their knees. Three Kings, who were used to
being adored
and worshipped, were now humbling themselves before a baby in a manger.
A perfect
stranger. They laid gifts at his feet. Incense and Oils. They stayed
to visit for a while then
they went to tell the world. In the meantime, the Shepherds were arriving
and they too
were in awe.
In the months to follow news spread of a great Messiah who was born. Sadly,
the
Leader of the land ordered the baby to be hunted down and put to death. He
and his
parents had to leave the country. They fled to Egypt. This child's life
was spared only to
die later at a young age at the hands of another Ruler. He would
be reduced to a
peasant once more. He would die with thieves in a death the people of the
land felt
appropriate. What they refused realize is that this "Jesus"
came to save the world.
We honor his birthday at this time of the year. The reason this baby came
to us has
been forgotten. We need to keep the Christmas Spirit alive all year and
treat each other
with the love and kindness that was experienced not only the night of His
birth but for
the 33 years that followed when he roamed the land and touched many lives.
Our special Christmas wish is that we would like to wish you a very
Merry Christmas.
We hope that the New Year brings you happiness, love and the strength to
battle the
adversaries of life!
God Bless and Peace be with you!
Merry Christmas
from First Angel and the staff!
