Christmas

Dear Katerina,

I was wondering how do you handle it when some-
one tells you not to say merry christmas?  People want
to do away with christmas. Years ago you would never
see this. What's going on in our world?

Merry Christmas Katerina keep up the good work!

Brian

Dear Brian,

Thanks for writing. Unfortunately, secularism is creeping into society in a big way. Many secularists feel that everyone should be equal in this world. In doing so they take away the freedoms we all embrace, one being freedom of religion. Christians believe Christmas is a very special and Holy day.  Others see it as just a day to have fun and enjoy their friends and families, and that's okay too.

It seems that many progressives want to erase Christmas all together, and anything that represents it.  They have re-named it "winter solstice" "winter break" "winter vacation" and a few other new names. I have also seen during the Christmas season a Manorah, a Kwanzaa display, and other non-Christian symbols of the Holiday. A nativity is not permitted or anything else that would represent Christ. It seems to me, and this is my opinion, that there is a war against Christianity, not Christmas. There is a movement in our country to rid us of Christianity all together.

I do agree that Christmas has changed over the years. It's not the way it used to be. Christmas will always live in our hearts. Those who love God and honor His Son, keep Christmas regardless. We did not know the true birthday of the Lord Jesus so we assumed one. To me that's good enough. We still pay homage to that wonderful gift that God has given us, His Son, and that's what counts. Christmas should live in our hearts all year long. No matter what progressives do or say, they can never steal or alter what you believe deep in your soul. They will lose every time. I do hope you have a wonderful and blessed Christmas. Remember, keep God in your heart and praise Him for his wonderful gift, the baby who came to save the world!

God Bless you,
Katerina
